This book was a nice and sweet high school romance. The characters were great. I really enjoyed Ben’s and Paige’s story. They were a sweet couple who had realistic problems and were total opposites.
Paige is trying to be perfect. She is from the upper side of town. However, unlike her upper side of town folks, she is kind and doesn’t want to be like them. On the other hand, Ben is from the left side. His family is poor and he works to provide. How can these two people with two different lifestyles have so much in common?
The answer is that they complete each other. Paige is struggling with the pressure of her parents. Her mom in particular wants her to be “Perfect Paige.” She is opinionated and thinks low of Ben. Ben is struggling financially, but is an academic whiz and a total math geek. When Paige needs help in Calc, Ben offers to tutor her and that is when the sparks fly.
The chemistry between the characters was tangible and realistic. Both are struggling to admit their feelings for each other and Ben was so sweet at times. The cookies and notes, boy, they were wonderful.
I throughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a nice break from NA and going back to YA. Therefore my rating is:
